The VirtualMD method
How we work together
We don't just chat once a year. VirtualMD uses a proactive, tech-forward approach to chronic care, combining comprehensive, evidence-based management with ongoing monitoring. You get dedicated, expert oversight to keep your health on track and prevent future risks — all without stepping foot in a waiting room. We serve adults across the entire state of Washington.
- 01
iHealth devices shipped to your door
If you need vital tracking, I ship the smart iHealth remote monitoring system directly to your home. No shopping or hassle required.
- 02
Real-time data syncing
Your iHealth devices automatically sync your numbers with me. I see your real-time trends, allowing us to catch issues before they become problems.
- 03
Data-driven adjustments
No more guessing games. We can make medication decisions using your real-world home readings alongside your symptoms, history, labs, and other clinical information — not just a single reading in a doctor's office.
- 04
Local lab and imaging coordination
I order your routine blood work, A1C checks, lipid panels, echocardiograms and EKGs at a convenient facility right in your local Washington community.
- 05
Unhurried virtual visits
We meet via secure video or phone to review your progress, talk strategy, and focus on long-term prevention.
Your health, monitored between visits.
Your readings reach your physician as they happen — not at your next appointment, and not from a summary someone else typed up.

Honest fit
Is VirtualMD the right fit for you?
Who this is for
- An adult anywhere in Washington looking for expert, consistent chronic care.
- Tired of taking time off work or driving for simple lab reviews and refills.
- Wanting a doctor who actually looks at your daily home vitals.
- Coordinating care alongside a local specialist or cardiologist.
What needs an in-person visit
- Emergencies or unstable conditions. VirtualMD is for continuous, stable management of chronic cardiovascular disease.
If you are experiencing chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, severe dizziness, face drooping, or arm weakness, call 911 immediately. Emergency procedures and hospital care must be handled by your local physical ER.
Need a specialist? We've got you covered.
Dr. Patel provides ongoing cardiovascular and metabolic management from day one. If your condition ever requires an in-person specialist, he coordinates a seamless referral to a cardiologist right in your local Washington community. You get the best of both worlds: expert virtual management and a built-in safety net.
Do I need to buy my own blood pressure cuff or glucose monitor?
No. If your care needs home tracking, I ship the smart iHealth system directly to your door — nothing to shop for, nothing to configure. It arrives ready to sync with me.
How do you actually see my numbers between visits?
Your readings sync to me automatically. I am not looking at one blood pressure taken in a clinic hallway — I am watching your trend across mornings, evenings, calm weeks and stressful ones. Drift shows up early, and we act on it early.
Where do I get labs, EKGs or an echocardiogram done?
Near you. I send the order electronically to a facility in your local Washington community — blood work, A1C, lipid panel, EKG, echocardiogram — and the results come back to me for review. Then we go over what they actually mean.
Can my medications be adjusted without an office visit?
Yes. I make medication decisions from your real-world home readings, your symptoms, your labs and your history read together — which is more information than any single reading taken in an office gives me.
Do you replace my cardiologist?
No — I work alongside them. I handle the day-to-day management and keep your specialist in the loop. If you ever need one and do not have one, I arrange the referral right in your community.
Is virtual care safe for a heart condition?
For stable, chronic conditions — yes. That is exactly what this practice is built for, and home monitoring often surfaces a problem sooner than a scheduled visit would catch it.
What I do not do is emergencies. Chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, severe dizziness, face drooping, arm weakness — that is 911, every time.
